Gian Maria Volont was an Italian actor. Known for his outspoken leftwing leanings and fiery temper on and offscreen, he is perhaps most famous outside of Italy for his roles in four Spaghetti Western films Ramon Rojo and El Indio in Sergio Leones A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More , El Chuncho Munoz in Damiano Damianis A Bullet for the General and Professor Brad Fletcher in Sergio Sollimas Face to Face .

Volont was born in Milan, and graduated in Rome in 1957. He had a brief career as a television and theatre actor, before concentrating on his film career.
